Activities

The Silesian Library, one of the most important institutions in the region, fulfils its statutory tasks at the interface of two areas – scientific and public.

Education and information are the basic functions that we carry out in our daily work with readers, as well as through a number of additional activities based on our educational offer, including shows, lectures, workshops and developed educational platforms.

Of particular note is the specialised protection of the collections, implemented through conservation services, including microbiological analysis. The Silesian Library Publishing House is an important element of the Library’s activity, constantly expanding its offer with new series and publications. The Silesian Library is also a creator, implementer and even a leader in many projects whose diversified thematic spectrum allows people to get to know, preserve and popularise many areas of culture and science.

  • Online Exhibitions

These are virtual thematic collections presenting selected stationary exhibitions or presenting library collections, including documents and objects. The collections are constantly supplemented with presentations, multimedia shows and photocasts.
